Last updated on Oct 13, 2025

You can easily connect to your Windows VPS or dedicated server using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) from your local computer.

✅ Requirements

  • Your server IP address

  • Your login credentials (username: Administrator, and your password)

💡 If you’re using Windows 10 Home, you may need to install or activate the Remote Desktop app from the Microsoft Store before proceeding.

🔌 Steps to Connect

  1. Open Remote Desktop Connection

    • Press Start → search for Remote Desktop Connection (or Remote Desktop App).

    • On macOS, download the Microsoft Remote Desktop app from the App Store.

  2. Enter the Server IP

    • In the Computer field, type your server’s IP address.

    • Click Connect.

  3. Login to Your Server

    • When prompted, enter:

      - Username: Administrator

      - Password: (the password provided in your VPS details)

    • Click OK.

  4. Accept the Certificate Warning

    • If a yellow warning or security prompt appears, click Yes or Continue.

🪟 You’re In!

You should now see your Windows Server desktop — ready to use just like a normal Windows PC.

💬 Troubleshooting Tips

  • Connection failed? Ensure your server is online and the IP address is correct.

  • Wrong password? Try copying it from your VPS panel again (watch for spaces).

  • Using macOS or Linux? Use the Microsoft Remote Desktop app or Remmina (Linux).
